Applying for Sixth Form

Sixth Form On-line Application Now Closed

Update on Year 12 Applications - 21 February 2018

Due to the sheer volume of applications received, we are currently still processing submissions, we are hoping to write to all candidates during the next 3 weeks with the outcome of your application.

We do not accept late applications.

On receipt of your application we will contact your school and request your predicted grades. We may then need to invite you into school for the pre-entry assessment / audition day (Saturday, 20 January 2018 and/or Saturday, 27 January).

Conditional offers will be sent w/c 20 February 2018 if your predicted grades and test indicate that you are likely to fulfil our admissions criteria for entry into the Sixth Form. We can only accept predicted grades received from our initial request to your school. We cannot reconsider your application or option choice if your grades change during the academic year.

Entry Criteria

Successful candidates must have achieved both of the following to be eligible to enter Sixth Form at Townley:

  • A minimum of 8 full course GCSEs at grade 9-5 which must include English, Mathematics  (English and Maths grade 5 or above)
  • An average point score of 5.75 in the best 8 subjects
  • If students want to study 4 A Levels they need an average GCSE Point Score of 7 or above.
  • All subjects are linear now, unless we decide later in the year to allow the fourth option to possibly be a standalone AS.

We regret that BTEC courses and short courses cannot be taken into consideration.
