Year 11 were lucky to have a lecture from author Nell Stevens about narratology and how texts are structured ahead of their GCSE examinations.  Dr Stevens, who is a lecturer in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths University, discussed films such as Selma and Call Me By Your Name as a way of making complex structural techniques more accessible.  Year 11 were delighted to have a real expert in the field come in and speak to them, helping to make English Language more relatable.  The English Department also ran a short story competition after this event to really embed those creative writing skills.
