Townley are very proud to support a sixth form student who has shaved her head for charity.
Amazing fundraising by our Year 13 student, Flo wanted to participate in raising funds for Mind, Mental Health Charity. Flo decided after her own personal experiences that she wanted to continue to raise the profile of mental health awareness for 2019. So, on the 1st January 2019, Flo shaved her head with family and friends supporting her. To date Flo has raised over £1,300 for the charity, which is a fantastic result and surpasses her initial target of £500.
We asked Flo – why she decided to shave her hair? Rather than do a fundraising walk.
“For those of you that know me my hair has always been a point of confidence for me, I’ve dyed it so many times and had it every style under the sun. For me this is a fresh start, 2019 - a journey full of positivity. I want to cut it off because I want to find full happiness within myself not just the way I look or what I have.”
Thank you to everyone who has supported Flo in this event. If you would like to contribute to her charity and support Flo on her journey in 2019. Flo has set up a “JustGive page”, the link is included below just click on the image and it will take you to the page.
Townley wanted to acknowledge this courageous and inspirational student to the school community!
