Teen Tech Award - Centre of Innovation & Creativity

Teen Tech Award Finalists

Two sixth form students have reached the finals for an award as part of their participation in the STEM Crest Elective in Year 12.

We are absolutely delighted that Reiss and Nkemdilim have reached the finals for their "Track-IT" idea under the innovation category.  As a result of their entry Townley have been awarded by TeenTech the Silver Badge for Centre of Innovation & Creativity 2019.

Category: Best Innovation - Model, Prototype or Product

The TeenTech Awards are for UK students from 11-16 (Years 7 to 11) and 16-19 (Years 12 to 13) working in teams of up to three to look at problems large and small to see if they can find a better way of doing things.

There will be a prize of £1000 to the winning school in each category and the overall winners will be presented with their awards by HRH Duke of York KG at Buckingham Palace.

The TeenTech Awards were established in 2012/3 and schools have found them a powerful tool, helping students to see how they might apply science and technology to real world problems. They encourage students to develop their own ideas for making life better, simpler, safer or more fun. Participating schools are provided with a suggested structure and industry contacts.

Reiss and Nkemdilim will attend the finals on Monday 24th June at the IET, Savoy Place, London WC2 to make their final presentations to the panel. We wish them every success for Monday!
