Weekly Parent Communications

Monday 11th November 2024

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Mastery Sessions
This week welcomed the start of Townley's Mastery sessions. View the Townley Mastery Sessions Schedule here. We have received a significant number of emails from parents/ carers during the week and since most of them raise the same questions, we aim to answer these through Parent/ Carer Communication today as it will not be possible to answer every email individually.

  • All students who signed up have received a place and so should attend.
  • If you have forgotten which Mastery sessions are being offered between now and the end of term, please refer to the attached document. We are unable to share the class registers so if the attached document does not serve as a reminder, please follow the steps advised in point 3.
  • If your child did not sign up to a session but would now like to attend, they should either speak to the teacher delivering the session to check capacity or turn up at 3.40pm as in most cases, they can be added to the register then.

Though many students benefited from the sessions this week, we did notice the number of absences in some Mastery classes. In previous communication we had stated that by signing up to a session, students should then commit to this; this is not only courteous to the member of staff delivering the session but in some cases, another student is unable to join as it appears the session is at full capacity. Students must, therefore, communicate with the teacher if they are no longer able to attend.

AMBIT Extra Curricular Activities

Anti-Bullying Week 2024
As part of Anti Bullying Week 2024, we are excited to announce our school's participation in Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November. Students and staff are invited to come to school wearing odd socks, alongside their school uniform, to celebrate what makes us all unique.

Green Careers Week
Our students have carried out activities this week in celebration of Green Careers Week.  Please see the attached GCW Parents’ Guide which provides lots of information and resources.

Kind regards,
