Weekly Parent Communications, Friday 21st March 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Summer School for current Year 7 – 9 students
We are thrilled to announce a potential Summer School programme for August 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to engage in enriching and enjoyable activities throughout the Summer break. The programme will feature a variety of exciting activities designed to stimulate learning, foster creativity, and promote social interaction between year groups. The cost would be £200 per student and would run between Monday 4th August - Friday 8th August.
The Summer School's operation is contingent upon sufficient enrolment. To ensure this valuable opportunity proceeds, we need to gauge the level of interest from our parent community. To help us determine whether the Summer School will be viable, we kindly ask you to register your interest by completing the Google Form here. Please fill in the form twice if you have more than one child interested. Please note that this experience is for Townley Students only, currently in Year 7 - 9.
For detailed information about the proposed Summer School, including dates, times, activities, and costs, please refer to the attached brochure.
Cultural Days
This year, the Equity Prefects have decided that we are having two cultural days for our whole school community to dress in their cultural attire for the day. Cultural Days are so significant because they provide a further opportunity to celebrate and share the diversity that exists within our community. Students will have the opportunity to wear clothing that represents and reflects their culture. It is a fantastic opportunity to share more about who we are. As part of the day, we will have a cultural celebration event at lunchtime where students can showcase their cultural dress.
In order to ensure that we can have as many students as possible engage in the cultural showcase events at lunchtime, Years 11, 12 and 13 will have their cultural showcase at lunchtime on Thursday 27th March, and Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will have their cultural showcase on Tuesday 15th July.
To confirm our two cultural days:
- Thursday 27th March - whole school cultural day, with Year 11-13 lunchtime showcase
- Tuesday 15th July - whole school cultural day, with Year 7-10 lunchtime showcase
