Townley Alumni move on to higher learning destinations all around the world


Townley Alumni include Baroness Valerie Amos, Director of SOAS - The School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London (Baroness Amos was appointed a Labour life peer in 1997 and was the first black woman to serve as a Minister in the British Cabinet and in the House of Lords), Zoe Smith, Team GB Weightlifter, Commonwealth Gold Medallist and European Bronze Medallist and up and coming actress Gillian Saker.

Outstanding Achievements and great destinations!


We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding university destinations secured by our Sixth Form students following another exceptional set of A Level results. This year, 20 students are progressing to Oxford, Cambridge, or studying medicine. A testament to their hard work, ambition, and dedication, their remarkable achievements reflect not only their perseverance but also the expert guidance and support of our dedicated staff.
We are immensely proud of all our students and wish them every success as they begin this exciting next chapter of their academic journeys.
Highlights from our Sixth Form A-Level results in  2025!
  • We are in the Times top 50 state schools nationally for results! Especially having the 3rd biggest cohort of students in the top 50
  • 20 students are off to study at Oxford, Cambridge or to study medicine
  • 73% A*-B grades is an outstanding achievement
  • 232 students are off to a university of their choice
  • 52 students achieved at least three A*/A grades

Townley Grammar School A Level Results 2025


We are delighted to announce another exceptional set of A Level results at Townley Grammar School and share our immense pride for our students who have worked so diligently throughout their studies.

Acting Headteacher, Miss Sarina Totty, celebrated the students’ success, stating: "We couldn't be prouder of our students. Their commitment to their studies has been truly inspiring. These impressive results are a direct reflection of their hard work and perseverance - they have undoubtedly laid the groundwork for bright and promising futures."

Miss Totty also extended her gratitude to the dedicated teaching staff. "We are incredibly lucky to have such a committed and talented team of staff. The high quality of teaching delivered to students, coupled with the unwavering academic and pastoral support offered, has been invaluable."
